ABOUT ME

I am a poet and storyteller and live in Lansing, Michigan.
I grew up in a number of houses filled with books. My love of stories began there as a child, most especially while listening to my mother read Winnie the Pooh - again and again. I have never stopped reading or loving children's literature.
I create and tell original stories. My personal narratives and contemporary tales hit the universal themes we all relate to – love, death, humor, grief, family, growth. I have told at numerous festivals and events in Michigan. I have been on stage at North East Storytelling’s Sharing the Fire Conference, and have been a frequent teller at the Northlands Annual Conference. My children’s stories, which I tell at schools, parks, libraries and other locations, are fun and quirky, and any life lessons come with a light touch. Mead Hill has published four books of my children’s stories: Lavender Hill Farm, A House for Mr. Mouse, Blueberry, and Princess Hippopotamus which are available on Amazon.
I am currently president of the Michigan Bright Water Storytelling Festival and host for the Bright Water Tellers, a virtual guild of the festival. I am past president of the Northlands Storytelling Network, past North Central Regional Director for the National Storytelling Network, and a 2025 recipient of the NSN Regional Service and Leadership ORACLE Award.
